Paris Fashion Week: A Hair Stylist’s Dream

There’s a shushing in the beautiful ballroom—everyone sits in silence & anticipation...
The sexy music starts, the models strut, sashay, swagger, attitude, sophistication, beauty, handsome, cameras flashing, color and beautiful fabrics flowing.
This is Paris Fashion Week!

After experiencing NYC Fashion Week earlier this year, I have to say I'm still hooked on Paris!
Our prep rooms were tight and hot—Euro size! So many bodies crammed into one area—electrical wires, sprays, nails, and makeup going everywhere!
I love the buzz, pressure, and the synergy of everyone working to get these models primped and ready for that runway.
My favorite quieter part of the week was sitting outside at a cafe, watching the world go by. The area we were in was nearby the Louvre Museum—so a ton of tourists around, but you could spot the models and hairstylists, makeup & nail artists—always in black but dressed to impress!
I saw models doing photoshoots in the streets—this is one beautiful, sexy city! Even in the rain! Which barely let up!
I was part of a hair team that I barely knew anyone until I arrived. One of the reasons I love my industry so much is that it doesn't matter where you go in the world—you are instantly bonded by the shears!
I have new hair friends from all over the USA that joined together for this event. The previous week I was in Florence, Italy, with a group of hairstylists from the USA and Italy—even with the language barrier, we created amazing hair art with a stunning photoshoot inspired by the Italian Renaissance. More on that to come in another blog! :)
I’m in my fourth decade of hairstyling, and I’m constantly inspired by my amazing industry. The talent and creativity never cease to inspire me. I look constantly to fill my "HAIR CUP," and I have to say that this Euro hair trip I just took definitely filled and overflowed!
